Ames, Iowa – It has been an eventful summer for Global Reach. Not only did the Iowa-based company celebrate 20 years in business, but they also added some new hardware to their trophy case.
Global Reach was recently honored with two new awards for their work on the Iowa Attorney General website. These awards included one WebAward in August and one WAGGY Award in July.
The Conference of Western Attorneys General (CWAG) honored the website with a WAGGY Award for the ‘Best Overall’ member website of 2015.
Tom Miller received the award, presented by CWAG, at their annual conference held in Wailea, Hawaii last July. The WAGGY Awards program serves to identify and recognize exceptional member websites which strive to provide the public an excellent experience, both in function and aesthetic. The yearly honor is granted by a multi-state committee, choosing winners in a number of categories (Best Overall, Website Leadership, Consumer Outreach, and Crime Fighting, among a few others) based on a set of highly competitive criteria.
As stated by the CWAG Committee, “The winner of the Best Overall website has been subjected to fairly intense scrutiny from every angle—first, does its homepage have that "wow" factor, is it consumer-centric, does it have easy to spot buttons or tabs with quick access to information and resources, is the content and news current and highly relevant to the key issues of the day, and does the website flow smoothly maintaining a consistent design and appearance throughout? Is it a leader of innovation above and beyond its very worthy competition? In short, is it practically perfect?”
Global Reach partnered with Tom Miller to redesign the Iowa Attorney General website, aiming to provide a more streamlined experience for its users. They designed and developed a responsive solution which accommodated the website’s growing mobile audience. The new design, launched just last February, allows visitors to stay up-to-date on the latest consumer advisories, file important registration documents with the state, or report a consumer complaint. Utilizing responsive design and development, all of these functions can be carried out effortlessly whether users are viewing from a desktop computer, a tablet or a smartphone.
In addition to the prestigious WAGGY Award, in August the Iowa web firm also received news that the Attorney General website had earned a 2015 WebAward. The Government Standard of Excellence Award was granted to the Iowa Attorney General’s website for outstanding achievement in web development.
The WebAward Competition is the longest running annual awards competition and compares websites in 96 industries to set a standard of excellence for all website development.
