The Iowa Tourism Office, a division of the Iowa Department of Economic Development, awarded Iowa State University’s Reiman Gardens with the 2006 Tourism Website of the Year. Reimangardens.com, Reiman Gardens’ website, was designed by Global Reach Internet Productions.
The Iowa Tourism Awards were presented in conjunction with the Travel Federation of Iowa at the annual Iowa Tourism Conference. These awards honor several organizations, businesses, and individuals that have made outstanding contributions to the Iowa tourism industry. The award recipients are selected by a panel of their peers within the tourism industry.
“We are proud to be able to honor these recipients…these are shining examples of why tourism in Iowa continues to grow and continues to entice millions of people to travel in our state every year,” said Nancy Landess, manager of the Iowa Tourism Office.
The Iowa Tourism Awards recognize leaders throughout the state in a variety of 19 different categories. These categories ranged from the Hospitality Tourism Award to the Legislative Friend of Tourism Award. Reiman Gardens, being the only attraction to win three awards, received recognition for Best Consumer Publication, Tourism and Arts and Best Website.
