Global Reach Travels to Sioux City for Annual ABI Conference
Global Reach took a field trip to Sioux City June 14th–16th to attend Iowa Association of Business and Industry’s (ABI) Taking Care of Business Conference.
The Iowa Association of Business and Industry has served Iowa businesses since 1903 with a mission to nurture a favorable business, economic, governmental and social climate in our state while improving the overall quality of life of our citizens. As Iowa’s largest statewide business organization, ABI boasts over 1,500 member companies and represents over 300,000 of Iowa's valued workforce. As an Iowa business, Global Reach looks forward to this annual event and sees our consistent participation as an opportunity to do our part in contributing to this mission.
Staff attendees Carolyn Baker, Taylor Wolf, Christina Klinge, and Josh Wheaten, were immersed in three jam-packed days full of speeches, meetings and networking. The conference offered valuable information which attendees could take back and apply to their own day-to-day work.
Two well-known entrepreneur, Johnny “Cupcakes” Earle, founder of an alternative T-Shirt shop called Johnny Cupcakes that’s taking the social media world by storm, and legendary Dick Vitale, ESPN College Basketball Analyst, were headlining speakers. Both offered valuable business information and perspective which energized attendees to grow and build on.
The team also had the chance to take part in a number of break-out sessions, covering relevant subject matters like “Building Cohesive Teams While Having Fun!” and “Create an Irresistible LinkedIn Profile in 5 Easy Steps.” Of course, no conference would be complete without networking; the conference provided the opportunity for attendees to meet and network with more than 600 business leaders from around Iowa.
