How to File Upload Using GRIP Mail

Google “online file sharing” and you’ll be served a list of about 69 million results. You can even use some of these popular solutions as a backup should the unthinkable happen to your computer. Services like Dropbox and Google Drive are fantastic for sharing files and collaborating with peers online. But there are many reasons why savvy web users will avoid these cloud-based file-sharing services. What if you need to securely share sensitive legal documents, specifications, or billing information?

I know what you’re thinking, “I’ll just email the documents then!” For some users sending sensitive files via email is fraught with uncertainty. Is my file too large? Will it be flagged as spam? What if I accidentally send something private to the whole office?

If you are a Global Reach email customer you need not worry; we have you covered.

We have a “File Storage” area built into the Global Reach webmail interface, mail.globalreach.com. Clicking on the folders icon will bring you to an area where you can upload files to share with your friends and business contacts. Simply open up the file storage area, click the “Upload” button, and select the file or folder on your computer you wish to share.

Once a file has been uploaded to your file storage area you can edit the file to allow public access via a link. You can restrict access to your files by setting an expiration date and time (think Inspector Gadget without the exploding memo, “this message will self-destruct in 30 seconds”).  You can also protect each document with a password. In the event an undesired recipient receives your message they will be unable to access your documents unless they have the password to that document.

Global Reach’s email service simplifies the process of sharing files online, it is easy to use, and offers peace of mind when sharing sensitive documents and files. Your users will also benefit from a streamlined download process; there is no need to log into an FTP and hunt around to retrieve files. If you are interested in setting up this file sharing service for your business contact our dedicated support team. We are always happy to assist you.
