The challenge
The nine Iowa regents govern five public educational institutions, including the University of Iowa, Iowa State University, and Northern Iowa. Also under their purview are two special K-12 schools, the Iowa School for the Deaf and the Iowa Braille and Sight Saving School. The Board of Regents' old website was outdated and had website accessibility compliance issues.
Knowing that their website was overdue for a refresh in terms of design and functionality, the Board of Regents was looking for an Iowa web development company that could meet their specific needs. The design had to be responsive and WCAG/Section 508 compliant for accessibility to those with disabilities. The functionality overhaul of the website would also require much easier management of both extensive official archives and current information on the various institutions they govern.
