The World Food Prize is the foremost international award recognizing the achievements of individuals who have advanced human development by improving the quality, quantity or availability of food in the world. The website needed to provide extensive information to visitors around the world, as well as support annual conference registrations. In 2014 The World Food Prize wished to honor the organization’s founder and Nobel Peace Prize Laureate, Dr. Norman Borlaug, with a world-wide interactive feature on their website.
To meet the World Food Prize’s extensive needs, our team combined several different approaches. To track and manage event registration, Global Reach created a custom back-end that collected payments and attendee information. The second phase was to set up the website on a CMS, SiteViz, to handle the page building and editing. Multi-language authoring pages were created to provide the organization information in Arabic, Spanish, Chinese, French and Russian. Global Reach developed a map where users can submit how they plan to carry on Dr. Borlaug’s legacy. The user’s post and location display instantly on an interactive map alongside all other submissions.
