Global Reach offers Spanish Translation Services

November 1, 2012

To help clients engage with future and current Spanish-speaking customers, Global Reach has added Spanish Translation to its ever-expanding list of services. Clients, like Becker Underwood, are finding value in having a Spanish version of their website. Our bilingual Project Manager, Diana Sloan, will take your English website content and translate it in a meaningful way. In other words, she will analyze the meaning of your content (not just the words) and revise it so that it reads well for your Spanish speaking audience. Translating tools, like Google Translator, simply translate content "word-for-word" resulting in a material that is choppy, inaccurate, and difficult to understand.

If reaching out to more potential customers is something you are interested in, there are some statistics that may interest you. Changes that take place offline can have an important online impact. Here, we present three reasons to incorporate a Spanish version of your website based on national demographics and trends:

Market Size. The demographic evolution in the United States has resulted in significant growth in the Hispanic population, particularly in the Midwest and the South. According to the U.S. Census, there are over 52 million people of Hispanic origin in the U.S., constituting almost 17% of the nation’s population.

Purchasing Power. The estimated purchasing power of Hispanics in 2012 was $1.2 trillion, with a faster-projected growth than any other ethnic minority in the U.S. Comparatively, this segment is younger, larger, and becoming wealthier.

Language Preferences. Studies by industry experts indicate that at least 75% of the Hispanic population is fully bilingual and while they conduct business and social interactions in English, they prefer Spanish at home and when seeking information online.

As you can see, it makes perfect business sense to have a Spanish version of your website to capture the growing Hispanic market. Even if it is a selection of pages and not the entire website, having Spanish content is a wise investment.
Now, you may be wondering “what if my staff doesn’t speak Spanish?” That’s not an issue. When we create the content for your website, we’ll make sure to include a disclaimer noting that the Spanish website is offered as a courtesy and business is handled in English.
