Global Reach won its first Prometheus Award at last night's ceremony (hosted by the Technology Association of Iowa) – taking home a torch for the Best New Innovation in Government. Global Reach was selected as a finalist for the creation of the I-JOBS website and custom application system (www.ijobsiowa.gov). Through this platform, the Iowa Finance Authority (IFA) was able to efficiently award grant money, as well as help Iowans, manage and track their applications.
Upon receiving the award, Global Reach President and CEO, Iacovos Zachariades, said, “I would first like to thank the Iowa Finance Authority for trusting us with this project. I-JOBS has helped thousands of Iowans, as well as the government in expediting statewide relief from the 2008 floods. This award truly is a testament to teamwork and innovation.”
IJOBSiowa.gov helped reduce the government's operational costs - saving money that can be re-invested in Iowa's infrastructure. In addition, Iowans were able to quickly access resources to help in rebuilding lost assets.
"It was a pleasure working on this project with the IFA team," said Business Manager and Project Leader, Nelson Akkutlu. "We are very proud of the technical skills, problem solving and execution that went into successfully creating IJOBSiowa.gov."
Global Reach was also a finalist in the following categories: CEO of the Year and Software Company of the Year.
