3 Ways to Improve your Password Security

More in this section

  1. Create complex passwords that are difficult to guess. Although you have probably heard it time and time again, many people still continue to use simple passwords to protect vital information.
    Good passwords should:
    • be at least 8 characters
    • contain a combination of uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols
    • not contain any dictionary words. For example, "password", "apple", or "square"

  2. Think twice before giving out your password. The most common way people are tricked into giving away their password is through phishing, or sending emails that mimic a legitimate site in order for you to directly provide the information for a hacker.

  3. Avoid reusing passwords. Many people use a single or few passwords for a variety of accounts. This may seem convenient, but if a hacker gains access to one of your accounts, you can bet they will try the same password on your other accounts.

At Global Reach we do our part to protect your passwords and other sensitive information. Our passwords are always encrypted using the SHA-256 algorithm developed by the National Security Agency. Even if a hacker was able to steal our data, they would not be able to determine your password.
Global Reach also maintains PCI compliance for our data center. PCI compliance is a strict set of standards and guidelines created by the Payment Card Industry to protect important information like passwords and credit card numbers.
