Step 2. Start A New, Blank Report
You’ll be met with this homepage, where you can choose from a variety of pre-made Looker Studio templates or make a report from scratch. For this tutorial, we will be making a report from scratch.
Step 3. Select & Connect Your Data Source
The first thing you will be asked to do is choose a data source. For this tutorial, we will be connecting a Google Analytics 4 property. Click on Google Analytics, and search for the name of your property. Go ahead and connect your property from here.
Step 4. Pick Your Report
Once the data source is added, decide what Looker Studio report you want. The type of report you want will determine what metrics and dimensions you select for your table. In this example, I want to create a report with pageviews per website page. Click on the dimension and metric selector on the right side of your screen and select your desired elements.
Step 5. Customize Your Report
Add widgets and images to enhance the visual appeal, sharability, and navigability of your reports. You can do this by adding a title, your logo, and a date control widget. You can do this by clicking on the “Insert” drop-down. After clicking on each option, select the area where you want to place the widget and drag it across the area.
Step 6. Review Your Report
You should have a report that looks like this. This is just one example of the reports you can make with Google Looker Studio. It is highly encouraged that you play around with different templates, data sources, styles, and visual elements. You can make reports with maps, bar charts, line graphs, and many more.
